This was a walk we had not done for some time. We set out from Plimmerton Railway Station and walked the trail beside old SH1 as far as Airlie Road opposite Whenua Tapu Cemetery. We continued up Airlie Road before turning off onto the Taua Tapu walking track which led us up to hill to the top of The Track. The views along the way were rather lovely. Then we descended through the bush, down lots of steps into the Karehana Bay Scenic Reserve. We then took a well-earned break beside the sea for snacks/lunch before walking around the bay back to Plimmerton Railway Station. From there, those who had time, stopped for a coffee at Palmers Garden Centre. It was a good walk with a great variety along the way.
