With such up and down weather, I changed the listed walk to a local one and 9 of us met in Tulsa Park to do a loop walk starting with some street walking to California Park. From there we joined the River Trail and then it was up the track to the Birchville Dam. We all commented on the nice new bridges on this track and the number of people out. We stopped for a quick drink and photos at the dam. After that it was a bit of a slog up the hill for people like me who had taken a break from hill walking over the holiday period. Once on the forestry road, the road kept winding upwards at a gentler rate. We stopped at the trig for an early lunch break where there were lots of other walkers enjoying the track. We lost Peter, who had to get back, so went down the zigzag track and gained Anna who had arrived at the top and joined us on the walk down. It was a very pleasant walk down as the bush has grown so much along 3 Skulls Road, that we were shaded most of the way. By this time, it had got very hot, not wet, and humid as it had been when we set out. We decided against a coffee at Mitre 10 as most of the walkers had other plans.
