Seven of us enjoyed a very pleasant walk commencing from the rear car park of the Bob Scott Retirement Village. Our walk took us along the stop bank and we were soon walking through the Shandon Golf Club with greens and fairways either side of us. Once we arrived at Waione St we
made a left hand to take us to the under pass of the Seaview Bridge. This took us to the other side of the road. We made our way along the footpath and from there we made a left hand turn to take us onto the trail that would eventually bring us out to the Hikoikoi Reserve. Once arriving at the reserve, we made our way across and then down on to the beach. From there the aim was to walk as far as we could to the western end. Once arriving there we stopped for food and drink. On our return journey, the walk took us along the footpath of the Petone Esplanade. We decided to have a coffee at Cafe Welcome. After coffee we made our way back to the cars for our return home. The weather conditions were great and the harbour was a mill pond. As they say you cannot beat Wellington on a "GOOD DAY"
