There was rain around the hills, but we set off from the Battle Hill carpark at 10am hoping the forecast rain for 1pm would hold off till we finished our walk.  We reversed the direction from last time and headed up the farm tracks, which was a steady climb, the last 100m or so were quite steep and brought us to the top which was windy with misty rain so the views were not the best. It had taken only 50 minutes or so to reach the top. We had a few photos and left fairly quickly.  The downhill was through beautiful bush and we also had the pleasure of walking beside the stream for a while as we got lower. We hadn’t stopped for a snack or lunch so completed the walk in under 2 hours, which meant we had time to linger to admire all the work that has been done at the park recently, including a new children’s playground. After visiting the eels that have been there for a while, we stopped to look at all the other residents – guinea pigs, rabbits, lambs, budgies, and chickens. Some of us went to Ground Up for a coffee.
