Somewhat chilly day as 9 of us set out from the Aotea Lagoon. We stopped for a photo at the Gear Homestead and a nose around. Then it was off through Adrenalin Forest which some of our group hadn’t known about. Then down past a couple of lagoons and up towards Bothamley Park. Points of interest were the replanting and fish ladder. We had a late morning tea under some pine trees at which point I led us in the wrong direction. This meant we came out at Waitangirua instead of Ascot Park. We ended up following the road around and as this area undulates, after the 3rd climb, we were more than ready for a cuppa at Groundup. I promise to do better next time if anyone trusts me!!
