6 of us enjoyed a very pleasant day walking the Greytown to Woodside Trail. Conditions overhead were perfect and it wasn't to long that some of the layers of clothing were coming off. The track is also very popular for locals and we saw many of the trail. The start of the trail took us through an avenue of mature Oak trees. Once we came off that part of the trail, we were into open farmland and rural out looks. Views of the Tararua Ranges and Gladstone Hills could be seen. The track under foot was great, limestone covered with leaves from their Autumn shedding. Whilst we were enjoying our break at the Woodside railway station, there were a number of locals waiting for the Masterton train. The train arrived, people boarded and were now travelling South to their destinations. At this point we decided to make our way back to the start of the trail and our cars. Some of us then went into Greytown for liquid refreshments and treats.
