This was a changed walk from listed.
Five of us set out from Eastbourne (Burdan's Gate), on a lovely sunny morning. It was a relaxed walk, with quite a few bikes going passed us. When we got to the path up the hill to the Old Pencarrow Lighthouse, we decided to go that route as some of us hadn't done it. Annemette decided she would stay on the coastal path and meet us around past the Pencarrow Lighthouse. It was a good steady climb up the hill and made a nice change from the flat gravel path. The views were well worth the climb, though it was quite windy. We had lunch at the top. We headed down and walked around Lake Kohangapiripiri, and could see other tracks that look promising for future walks, especially around the lakes, including some wetlands. We met up with Annemette again and began our walk back past the Pencarrow Lighthouse. It was a brisk walk back, but it still seemed to take forever, especially as it got quite hot.
We all enjoyed a well-earned ice cream at the end of the walk as we had walked 18kms.
