We met at the Pakuratahi Forest car park and then walked the Remutaka Rail Trail for 10km and made our way up to the Summit, where we stopped for lunch and a well earned rest. After lunch a few of us then ventured through the Siberia tunnel (which lives up to his name as was very windy). It was then a 10km return walk back to the car park for us.
The Remutaka Rail Track is an easy track to walk, with some great scenery and history along the way about the trail.
