Perfect mid-winter weather encouraged 9 club members and 2 family members to come on Sunday’s Eastbourne 14km coastal walk. The flat well-formed track is enjoyed by many recreational walkers and cyclists travelling in both directions. Important for us all to remain conscious of others using the track.
A new addition several kilometres along the track is the installation of a public toilet. Good idea considering the large number of people young and not-so-young enjoying this coastal walk.
Club members are keen to repeat this walk next time including the circular inland route which diverges off the coastal track; climbing to the lighthouse before descending down the other side eventually rejoining the coastal track adding another 1 1/2hr to the walk. Tramping boots and poles essential for the steep inland route.
