3 of us set out on this walk in rather overcast and misty conditions.
The track under foot was extremely muddy and slippery and care was taken by all of us not to slip. As we made our way to the top the mist
cleared, however, views were only of the Hutt Valley. We did not stay to
long at the top as the mist was rolling back in again and looked rather
black. We made good time going back down the track which surprised us as we thought going downhill the track maybe be a little worse because of the underfoot conditions. We had a very brief moment of sunshine, but
it did not last very long. Once we got off the track with very muddy
boots and mud splattered clothing, we made our way to California
gardens for drink and food.
