On a beautiful sunny day, 9 club members met at the Oakleigh Street entrance to the Belmont Regional Park. We walked down the Loop track to the Korokoro Dam. The track is very pretty with a lot of Nikau palms growing and the dam had lots of water cascading down, due to the heavy rain we have had. We followed the river, which is another beautiful part of the walk and turned right up to Baked Beans Bend, where we had an early lunch. On the way back up the loop track we stopped in places to look up the different species of trees, some looking very ancient. The walk took us 3 hours with plenty of stops.
