The day before had been fine, but our walk was undertaken in cold and blustery conditions - pleased we had a great turnout of 16 walkers.
The first 20 or so minutes was a flat walk beside the water then we branched off to the left to head up the hill which is a steady but not too steep climb and descent. After 40 minutes we arrived at Onehunga Bay where we had a brief snack and drinks break.
After our snack we extended our walk by heading further round the coast to explore the rocks and then we all went up a small hill to have a look at Kaitawa Point, where we had a good view of Mana Island, we didn’t descend the steep hill, as it was blustery and cool, so we retraced our steps to Onehunga Bay where we stopped for a longer break to eat lunch. After lunch we took the flat coastal track by the water’s edge back to our cars arriving about 3 hours after we set out. We then headed to Columbus in Mitre 10 for a coffee.
