Twelve Club members enjoyed a sunny but slightly windy day out at Pukerua Bay. We met at the Railway station and walked over to the old Muri Railway station, crossed the old state highway 1 and cut through a short bush walk to get onto the road that led us to Pukerua Bay beach. From there we took the zig zag down to the beach and the path (slightly rocky in some places) to Wairaka point. We stopped for morning tea on the beach and then proceeded up the Goat Track to Rawhiti Road, we then made our way back to the railway station. Some went for coffee at Palmers in Plimmerton and others to Paekak for coffee (the only drawback of this walk is that there is no coffee shop in Pukerua Bay!).
It was a good two and half hour walk and great to catch up with everyone and good to get out in the fresh air!
