It was a cold and mostly calm and sunny Sunday for the 11 walkers who met at 10am to do the walk. We had some introductions as not everyone knew each other. Today we took the easier combined walking/cycle track up to the lookout. This is much longer than taking the steps but has a gentle gradient - although of course we had to be aware of cyclists coming up behind us.
After nearly 2 hours we reached the lookout where we had a group photo and admired the views of Porirura, the harbour and Transmission Gully. There was a very cool wind at the lookout so we retreated to the picnic tables for a snack/lunch.
We returned to our cars via the 4-wheel drive track, arriving at 1.30pm. Most went on to have a coffee at Columbus.
