Korokoro walk 24 September 2026 It was a cool, but sunny morning when 10 of us set off down the Maungaraki track to the Korokoro Dam. The bush is beautiful with lots of nikau palms and some giant trees. We stopped and admired the Dam, which had a good flow of water after the rain. We then walked along the beautiful stream till we got to the track leading off to the right and walked up to Baked Beans Bend. After a rest and morning tea, we returned the way we came. The walk with breaks took about 3 hours.
