Todays was a mixture of road and river trail. We set out from the Corner of Cruickshank Road and climbed the steps up to McCarthy Grove and walked along to Mangaroa Hill Road. This was the only real hill on the entire walk and offered a couple of nice views on the way over. After that it was along a couple of country roads which were not as quiet traffic wise as you would expect. We stopped for a break after turning onto Maymorn Road and looked at the new development being built before pushing onto Te Marua Dairy for our coffee and lunch break. After this we joined the Hutt River Trail along to the duck pond, when we climbed back up onto Fergusson Drive. We had walked 14kms. Most of the group came back to my place for a cuppa.
