Four of us set out a wonderful autumn day to do the walk up to the
Korokoro Dam from the Cornish St entrance. This is a very pretty walk, with sunshine and bush covered track. The track was quite busy with  walkers and families, owing to school holidays. Bird life was quite  vocal particularly the Tuis. Upon reaching the dam at the top, there  were workman working on the area where we would normally take photos.  Spoke with them briefly to find out what they were doing, and was told -  making the area safer with hand rails and upgrade the steps. Moved on to  the viewing platform, however, very little to see of the top of dam due  to the growth of the bush. Again, a lot of families here with the  children playing in water - all were having a great time. The four of us  then made our way back to the car and then enjoyed a coffee at Mitre 10
