It was promising to be another extremely hot day as we set out on a beautiful morning. We enjoyed a lovely walk following the Hutt River Trail and catching up with each other’s news after the Christmas break. It became very hot, so we were grateful when the trail passed through some shade but about 50% was in the open.

It took just over an hour to reach the dairy where most of us indulged in an ice cream. This dairy does sell the best value ice creams!

Then it was off again to retrace our way back. On the way back the wind picked up and we enjoyed a good amount of cloud cover. This was far more refreshing to walk in and we returned to our cars 2.5 hours after we set off. We had walked a total of 9.6kms.

A very pleasant way to start the year off.
