10 club members met for this morning’s 16km Goat Rock Track which is a winding forestry track that is used by both cyclists and walkers.

Car pooling was organised from Silverstream and Upper Hutt Railway Stations. Assembly point at the top carpark in Tunnel Gully (by Mt. Climbie entrance point). Our route followed Station Drive along the old railway route to the top of Kaitoke Hill. Here we joined Goat Rock 4WD trail that undulates and eventually drops down on to the Remutaka Rail Trail approx. 3km from the Rail Trail car park.  A short walk along Kaitoke Summit Road we turn left at the T junction which took us on to the old SH2 road.  300metres along we then followed the signpost on the left-hand side which took us back to Station Drive and to where our cars were parked. 

Walking time was 3 1/2hrs. not including relaxing stops for morning tea and lunch. Most enjoyable spring outing.
